Renewing Your Pesticide License

Renewal forms went out in the mail the week of November 9, 2011. If you did not receive yours or misplaced it, you can use these generic Renewal Forms. Send them with a copy of your CEU certificate(s) before January 31.

Commercial, Public, and Noncommercial Applicators need 4 CEUs  earned in 2011 to renew their licenses. Anyone certified in 7D (including Termite Technicians) needs 4 "termite" CEUs to keep their 7D certification.  Private Applicators need 5 CEUs earned over their 5-year license period.

If you did not earn your CEUs before the license expiration date you cannot renew your license.

Commercial Applicators:  Remember to renew all your operators and termite technicians using the separate page included with your renewal form (or use the generic operator/technician form on this page).  Public Applicators: Your license is not renewed automatically! In addition to earning the required CEUs you must return your renewal form by January 31.

After January 31, 2012 you cannot renew your license. You must apply for a new license and take the exams again.

Frequently Asked Questions

I never received a renewal form!  You can print the generic renewal form (see link above), fill it in, and send with applicable fee and CEU documentation. If you are a commercial applicator and have operators, be sure to include the Operator/Technician renewal form to renew their licenses.

How many CEUs do I need?   Commercial, Public and Noncommercial Applicators need four general CEUs. Anyone certified in Category 7D, wood-destroying pest control (termites), needs four 7D CEUs. Termite Technicians need four 7D CEUs. Private Applicators need 5 CEUs.

I can't remember if I have my CEUs or not.   Your renewal form will tell you. If you didn't receive it you can call NMDA at 575-646-2134 and we will look you up.

NMDA says I don't have any CEUs but I attended workshops. What should I do?  Any CEUs you sent in after November 1 will not show on your form.  Just send copies of your CEU documentation along with your renewal. Remember that CEUs must have been earned during the term of the license.

When must I earn the required CEUs?  Before the license expires.

Where can I get my CEUs before December 31?   Check the list of upcoming workshops here.

What happens if I didn't earn my CEUs?  You cannot renew your license. You'll have to apply for a new license and take all the exams again.
